Green breaks into world top-200

May 2: Malaysia’s Gavin Green has broken into the top 200 of the Official World Golf Ranking following his runner-up finish in the Yeangder Heritage over the Labour Day weekend.

Green climbed 38 spots and is now ranked 198, making him only the second Malaysian to break into the top 200 after Iain Steel who was 191st after his runner-up finish in the 2007 Singapore Masters.

The 23-year-old Green has two runner-up finishes on the Asian Tour this year, the first coming in the European Tour co-sanctioned Hero Indian Open in early March. He is now in fourth place on the 2017 Asian Tour Order of Merit with US$239,777.

Kelly Tan meanwhile remains the top Malaysian in the Rolex Women’s World Rankings in 222nd spot.
