The Els Club Malaysia aims to increase the number of tee time bookings across its award-winning golf course portfolio by joining the recently launched Troon International booking app.
The Troon International app is available for download on all platforms and allows golfers a quick and easy method for booking tee times by searching for their favoured course and choosing the time at which they would like to play. All three of The Els Club Malaysia’s stunning golf courses are featured – the 18-hole Rainforest Course in Datai Bay on Langkawi Island, along with the 27-hole Ocean Course and 18-hole Valley Course at Desaru Coast in Johor.
The app was created by Troon International, a division of Troon which is widely acknowledged as the worldwide leader in upscale golf course management.
“We are extremely excited to release the app into Asia, and are delighted that The Els Club Malaysia is one of the first resorts outside of the Middle East to sign up for the service,” said Mark Chapleski, President of Troon International.
“This app will allow golfers all around the world to book tee times at their favourite Troon International destinations any time of day. Currently it is in place in the UAE, Bahrain, and Oman, and now Malaysia but will be expanding to other regions shortly. We have put considerable thought into development and look forward to seeing our partners reap the benefit,” he added.
The Rainforest Course is a work of art created amidst unspoilt rainforest next to the turquoise waters of the Andaman Sea on the famous holiday island of Langkawi. With unique characteristics including towering trees, an abundance of rainforest wildlife and no bunkers, the golf course is mesmerising.
Meanwhile, to the south east of the country, Desaru Coast spans over 3,900 acres with a 17km of coastline adjacent to the South China Sea in the southern state of Johor. The 45-hole Els Club property provides golfers not only with the excellence and quality of an Els-designed layout but also beautiful surroundings and world-class facilities. These include The Els Performance Golf Academy, which is the first of its kind in the region, the Big Easy Bar & Grill and the Café 261 – a relaxed terrace experience with golf course views created as an ode to Els’ Open Championship successes.
“We know that apps are becoming increasingly popular as a method of booking tee times and we have decided to push our club into the forefront of golfing technology by offering our guests a more modern and much simpler way to book,” said Stephen Havrilla, General Manager of The Els Club Malaysia. “We are very confident that, through our partnership with the Troon International app, more golfers will be encouraged to discover everything The Els Club Malaysia has to offer.”
Included within the app’s functionality is a full description of each course, providing detailed information on the layout and local attractions that surround it, along with an extensive list of general amenities that each one offers, from the delivery of corporate events to the quality of practice facilities available.
