The 29th edition of the MercedesTrophy’s Malaysian chapter will see nine legs staged through the country, with a projected participation of around 1,000 golfers.
Open to all Mercedes-Benz customers, the Malaysian series forms part of a worldwide golf extravaganza which was initiated by the German luxury carmaker in 1991 and now involves more than 60,000 golfers in 60-plus countries.
As in previous editions, the top three finishers in each handicap category – A (Handicap 0-12), B (Handicap 13-20) and C (Handicap 21 – 24) – at the qualifying rounds will qualify for the National Final, to be staged on June 20 at TPC Kuala Lumpur. They will be joined by the women’s champion at Palm Garden Golf Club on March 19.
The top two finishers in each handicap category and the women’s champion from the National Final will represent Malaysia in the MercedesTrophy Regional Final Asia, to be staged August 6-9 at its customary venue, the bespoke Sanctuary Cove Resort in the Gold Coast. Australia. The regional finale will see three Asian teams selected to represent the continent in the World Finals at the home of Mercedes-Benz, Stuttgart, on September 30-October 5.
The first player to score a hole-in-one on any of the two designated par-3 holes at each venue will win the all-new Mercedes-Benz GLC 200 worth RM293,888.
