45th RSGC Ladies Amateur Open set for August 2-4

The Royal Selangor Golf Club (RSGC) will be staging the 45th RSGC Ladies Amateur Open Championship on August 2-4, 2019.

The World Amateur Golf Ranking Category D event provides amateurs the unique opportunity to play at one of the country’s oldest and most prestigious golf clubs. This year’s championship precedes the Malaysian Ladies Amateur Open at Awana Genting Highlands Golf & Country Club (August 7-9), creating a two-week swing of elite amateur events in Malaysia.

“This is our premier event of the year and one that has continued to attract a growing number of entries
from around the world, with eight countries represented last year including the Philippines, Kazakhstan and
Pakistan,” said RSGC lady captain Datuk Yasmin Yusuff, who is also the tournament organizing chair.

“The 2018 tournament was another huge success with a designated players lounge, complimentary foot
massages and professional-aided warm-up stretches. Hole-in-one prizes included a car and air tickets,
with many other prizes apart from the coveted trophies … and for 2019 we look forward to an even bigger
and better event” she added.

Last year’s tournament was won by Malaysia’s Geraldine Wong with a 54-hole total of three-under-par 213, three strokes ahead of compatriot Loy Hee Ying who won the previous two editions.

Entry is open to all lady amateur golfers with a USGA handicap Index of not more than 17.4 (or a club handicap of not more than 20). For more information, log on  to https://lao.thersgc.com
