Chia moves up to 255 in the world rankings

Danny Chia’s runner-up finish in the PGM LADA Langkawi Championship moves him 15 places up the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) into 255th spot, consolidating his position as the top Malaysian male golfer in the world.

Chia is in 53rd spot in the Olympic men’s rankings and is on course to qualify for the Rio 2016 golf event this August. The Olympic rankings are based on the OWGR subject to country limitations, with the top 60 men and top 60 women as of July 11 qualifying for the men’s and women’s events respectively.

In the women’s Olympic rankings. Malaysia’s Kelly Tan and Michelle Koh are in 40th and 55th positions respectively.
