Dustin Johnson is feeling good abut his game again after winning the Northern Trust Open at Glen Oaks in a playoff over fellow American Jordan Spieth.

World No 1 Johnson took his PGA Tour title tally to 16 with his fourth victory of the year in the opening event of this year’s FedExCup playoffs. The win ended a ‘mini-drought’ for Johnson, dating back to the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play in March .

“I feel like I’m driving it really good again. I’m controlling my irons very well, hitting a lot of quality iron shots close to the hole,” said Johnson, who sat out this year’s Masters after injuring his back in a fall and returned to action in May.

“My wedges are dialed back in where I’m controlling the distance very well. Every time I had a wedge shot this week, I felt like I hit a really good shot and gave myself really good looks at birdie,” he added.

Asked if he felt that he was unbeatable heading into the last three events of the FedExCup playoffs. Johnson replied: “In golf, you’re never unbeatable. It’s just a fact. It’s never going to be that way.

“I feel like I’m going to compete and I’m going to contend for sure. Yeah, I’m definitely happy with the golf game right now.”
