Fung breaks into top 500 of world rankings

Nicholas Fung has moved into the top 500 of the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) following his first Asian Development Tour win at the PGM UMW Templer Park Masters last week.

280613_PUTPM_Nicholas Fung (MAS) 03Fung received six OWGR points to jump 200 spots from 690th to 490th and become the highest ranked Malaysian golfer in the world, overtaking Danny Chia who is in 570th place.

Based on the latest rankings, there are a total of five Malaysians ranked within the top 1000 of the OWGR – Fung (490), Chia (570), amateur Gavin Green (756), R. Nachimuthu (847) and Shaaban Hussin (960).

Starting this year, all ADT events receive OWGR points, which will be used to determine the field at the 2016 Olympics in Rio De Janeiro.
