Malaysia’s Kelly Tan will attempt to win one of 20 full-time LPGA cards on offer at the Qualifying School Stage III, which begins today at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Florida.

165 players from 31 countries will compete over five gruelling rounds to determine their  status for the 2018 LPGA and Symetra Tour seasons. The first four rounds will be played on the Jones and Hills courses on a rotation basis, following which the field will be cut to the top 70 and ties for the final round at the Hills.

Should there be a tie for 20th position after 90 holes, a three-hole aggregate playoff will be used to determine who wins the final LPGA card. If any players remain tied, they will compete in a hole-by-hole playoff until the winner is determined.

Players who finish in places 21-45 (including ties) will earn conditional LPGA status for 2018.

Kelly lost her card for the first time since joining the LPGA in 2014 after finishing in 148th position on the 2017  money list. She tees off at 8:22am (9.22pm Malaysian time) on the Hills Course with Canada’s Brittany Marchand and Japan’s  Sakura Yokomine.
