Dato’ Goon Heng Wah, Gamuda’s executive director, received the Best Maintained Golf Course award from Saidi Bundan, Tourism Malaysia’s director of industry development, during the glitzy ParGolf Awards Gala held at The Saujana Hotel on April 25. The voted awards were decided using three channels, namely voting by a 90-strong panel of golf industry personalities appointed by ParGolf, an online poll on www.pargolfmagazine.com and ParGolf’s management selection.

Kota Permai was also nominated for the Golf Club of The Year award for the third consecutive year, while its sister club, Horizon Hills was nominated for the Best Maintained Golf Course award for the second year running.

Tang Meng Loon, Gamuda Land’s general manager of club operations and township, said: “It is a tremendous honour for both clubs to receive the awards and I would like thank the strong teamwork and dedication of our highly committed staffs, members’ cooperation and the continuous support of the media and golfers alike. This award simply exemplifies our commitment to excellence.”

Jonathan Ponniah, ParGolf’s managing editor said:“Kota Permai Golf & Country Club is indeed a deserving winner of the Best Maintained Golf Course award for the third year running as the club continues to set the standards and indeed raise the bar for course maintenance in the country. Golfers can always expect superb golfing conditions at Kota Permai with lightning fast greens, which can be primed to roll at speeds of more than 12 on the Stimpmeter.
