MGA trump SGA 13-11 at Templer Park

The Malaysian Golf Association team won the annual match against their peers from the Singapore Golf Association by 13 points to 11 at Templer Park Country Club today.

Leading by 8 points to 4 going into the final day singles, the Malaysian team won five points to Singapore’s seven to regain the Challenge trophy. In the 2017 match at Keppel Country Club in Singapore, Malaysia lost by 16 points to 8.

The Malaysian girls contributed 5.5 points out of a possible eight, led by Winnie Ng who won all her matches. The Malaysian boys won 7.5 points out of a possible 16.

Inaugurated in 1976, the annual match now consists of six fourball and six foursomes matches on day one and 12 singles matches on day two. Both teams are made up of eight male and four female players.
