Message From The Club Captain

Happy New Year 2020 everyone!

KPGCC has certainly come a long way since the club opened more than two decades ago. We are very proud of the multiple milestones achieved and well-deserved awards and accolades received over the years.

Last year, KPGCC was in the limelight again with a host of awards including being voted as one of the Top 3 Best Managed Golf Clubs in the Asia-Pacific region during the Asian Golf Awards. We were also inducted into the highly-revered Asia Pacific Order of Zenith during the awards ceremony, while key members of the KPGCC management team were recognised for their excellence. Indeed, we are truly proud of all of you.

2019 was an exciting year indeed for KPGCC, culminating in the announcement that the 2020 Malaysian Open will be staged at our club. This is truly an awesome achievement as it shows that KPGCC is indeed at the top of the pyramid in Malaysian golf, recognised and acknowledged as being worthy to host such a prestigious tournament. Congratulations and thank you to the management and staff for your continued commitment and dedication towards maintaining the golf course to meet world-class standards!

To all members, do come over to the club on March 5-8 to catch the action at the 55th edition of the national Open as it returns after a
four-year lapse. I am sure it will be a tournament to savour and remember.

Throughout 2019, Kota Permai was once again the preferred venue for numerous corporate events such as the IJN Foundation Charity Golf, graced by the presence of the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah. We also enjoyed a plethora of wonderful internal events such as the much-awaited Club Championships with its signature trophy presentation gimmick in honour of the deserving champions. Off the golf course, highlights included the popular Food Truck weekend and numerous sports events culminating in the KPGCC Junior Sports Awards in December.

I would like to express my sincerest thanks to each and every one of you for your unwavering support in the past and, hopefully, in many years to come! Keep up the wonderful comradeship spirit and let’s continue to strive to be the best of the best in the Malaysian golf club scene.

Finally, may all of us be blessed with peace, prosperity and good health in 2020 … and, to all our Chinese members, wishing you a Happy and Prosperous Lunar New Year of the Metal Rat!
