The Swiss-Garden Challenge staged on November 19 was a resounding success with 104 golfers teeing off at the scenic and challenging Damai Laut Golf & Country Club. The participants came from all over the country and included Japanese and Korean expatriates along with three lady participants.
Nasaruddin Abdul Kadir emerged as the gross champion with a superb score of 75, winning himself a return air ticket to Muscat courtesy of Oman Air, 50″ Sharp TV and 3D/2N junior suite stay at Swiss-Garden Beach Resort Damai Laut. The nett title went to Mohd Arshad Ismail (12) who carded nett 64 to win a 40″ Sharp TV and 3D/2N deluxe garden view stay at the resort.
Golfers who did not play well enough to win had a chance to take home lucky draw prizes which included BMW umbrellas and hotel stay vouchers. Unfortunately, no one managed to ace the designated holes and the two BMW 118i M Sport cars on offer as hole-in-one prizes went unclaimed.
“We have again achieved another full field today and the response to our tournaments have been so great that we actually have golfers on standby on tournament day to fill in any last minute cancellations. We strongly encourage golfers to book early for the Grand Final of the Damai Laut Golf Series on December 3 and the Swiss-Garden Cup on December 16-17” said the resort’s general manager Patrick Tee.
“We also encourage golfers to bring your families here for a holiday as the resort’s The Wet Side Mini Water Theme Park and Young Citizens of the World Kids Club will be opening soon,” he added.
The official partners of Swiss-Garden Challenge 2017 included Oman Air, Nippon Golf Tech, Srixon and Crest Link.
