ParGolf Magazine of Malaysia and Weekly ParGolf of Japan today signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for content sharing and co-marketing.
The ground-breaking agreement is believed to be the first such tie-up between magazines from the two countries and will see both publications share articles for both their print and internet presences. Additionally, ParGolf Malaysia will act as the advertising sales agent for Weekly ParGolf Japan in Malaysia and vice versa.
“This is indeed a momentous occasion for us as Weekly ParGolf is far and away the leading golf publication in Japan,” said Suzannah Gun Palmer, the publisher/managing director of Write Track Publishing & Communications Sdn. Bhd, which publishes ParGolf Malaysia.
“The reach of Weekly ParGolf in Japan is huge and their content is engaging and wide-ranging, including a regular Manga golf comic! With this agreement, both magazines will be able to expand and enhance their content to reach a wider audience and provide greater mileage for our advertisers,” she added.
“We are indeed happy to enter into this historic partnership with ParGolf Malaysia,” said Yuji Hirose, the president of ParGolf Inc., the Tokyo-based publishers of Weekly ParGolf.
“This is the first time that we have tied up with a golf magazine from another country. While the fact that both magazines share the same name was a factor in our decision to enter into this agreement, we also did so because ParGolf Malaysia is the No.1 golf publication in this country with world-class, self-generated content,” Hirose elaborated.
