Kuala Lumpur, August 26: Malaysia won the SEA Games golf women’s team bronze medal by beating the Philippines in a playoff at The Mines.
After Ashley Lau had lost to Harmie Constantino 2&1 in he first match, Nur Durriyah Damian evened the score by beating Lois Kaye Go 1-up The match went into a sudden death decider and the two teams nominated Durriyah and Lois to settle the match and it was the Malaysian who came out tops with a par on the first extra hole.
Singapore meanwhile upset favourites Thailand in the men’s team final, Marc Ong winning a dramatic playoff to prevent a Thai sweep of all four golds in golf.
