SEA Games Golf Round 3

Kuala Lumpur, August 24: Thailand won the SEA Games golf men’s and women’s individual gold medals through Kosuke Hamamoto and Atthaya Thitikul after today’s third and final round at The Mines.

Hamamoto finished on 10-under-par to edge Singapore’s Marc Ong by one shot in the men’s event. Another Thai, Kammalas Namuangruk, was third on eight-under.

Malaysia’s best finisher in the men’s event was Ervin Chang, who closed with a 69 to finish in eighth place on one-under-par.

Teen sensation Atthaya meanwhile closed with a blistering 63 to finish on 14-under-par and take the women’s gold by seven shots over compatriot Thitapa Pakdeesettakul. Go Lois Kaye Lo of the Philippines won the bronze on four-under-par.

Malaysia’s Nur Durriyah Damian finished fourth on even par, with compatriot Loy Hee Ying a stroke further back in fifth place.
