Sharp-Roxy Sales & Service Company (M) Sdn Bhd (SRSSC) has signed on as the Official Audio Visual Supplier of the US$2 million Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia, which tees off next week at Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club.
Under the sponsorship arrangement, which is the first professional golf event involvement for the company in Malaysia, Sharp will supply a range of its LCD TVs and LCD panels for usage during the championship from October 10-13.
“Golf is a game that we’ve identified as an ideal platform for our brand, especially when it comes to our premium products such as the Big AQUOS series. Obviously, we’re proud to be associated with the prestigious Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia,” said H. Nuizato, the Managing Director of Sharp-Roxy Sales & Service Company (M) Sdn. Bhd.
During the tournament week, Sharp will be showcasing its popular models in the Big AQUOS series including its flagship 90” model – the LC90LE740X. Other Sharp’s high end LCD panels on display are the 60” Interactive Display Panels (IDP) which will be constructed in a 2×2 dimension video wall, the versatile AQUOS Board as well as its latest, yet to be officially launched 90” IDP panel.
The cosy and well-designed Sharp Interactive Zone, which will be set-up like a living hall, will be a focal point of the Spectators Village. The zone will be equipped with the Big AQUOS 90” TV as the centre of attraction where golf fans will get to follow the exciting live action on the course during tournament week in the comfort of a living-hall like atmosphere.
Leveraging on its association with the championship, Sharp is also organizing a Snap and Win contest for local golf fans. To participate, during the tournament week, golf fans will just have to snap a photo of them with Sharp’s branding or products on display at Kuala Lumpur GCC. They will then have to post those photos on Sharp’s AQUOS Facebook page and be in the running to win superb prizes including an AQUOS 60” TV.

I’m sure golf fans and patrons of the championship will appreciate our Big AQUOS series and high-end LCD panels on display and in use during the championship,” said Nuizato.
There will also be an element of charity to Sharp’s sponsorship, whereby 50 units of the TVs used during the championship will be auctioned off and proceeds from the auction will be channelled to the Cancer Research Initiatives Foundation (CARIF).
