Tasik Puteri GCC: Enhanced Experience

By KP Waran

The popular Tasik Puteri Golf & Country Club is moving into a more challenging phase as over 200 trees will be planted in the next few months and the existing vegetation matures.

This well-maintained 27-hole course has become a favourite golfing destination for many golfers in the Klang Valley in view of the continuous improvements being undertaken including the contoured quicker greens, wider landing areas and well-maintained rough that flank the fairways.

As the surrounding Bandar Tasik Puteri, developed by parent company the Low Yat Group, expands into a larger township encompassing residential, commercial, recreational and shopping components spread across 1,080 hectares, the golf club is bound to see increased activities.

Enveloped by lush terrain as well as sparkling lakes, the golf club allowed buggies on the fairways (except during and after heavy thunderstorms) in April 2016, which added to its popularity.

The club’s general manager, Kevyn Lee, said the exciting playing conditions, reasonable rates, availability of caddies and easy accessibility have contributed to the current 5,000 rounds each month, which is a marked increase from the 3,000 monthly rounds during the first quarter of 2016. He added that the club has begun to offer term memberships at RM2,500 per year with no subscription and green fee.

Jumbo flights of up to six players are allowed on the course during afternoons on condition each player hires a buggy and a caddy, while senior golfers get to play on Mondays for only RM68 each. These are among the reasons for the increased crowd.

On the drawing board for the clubhouse are a full Balinese spa with massage and reflexology services, steam rooms, a golf academy, larger proshop and bigger function rooms. Infrastructural changes and extensions to the clubhouse will start within the next two months.
