Foodies, listen up! The weekend’s almost here, and that tummy of yours is just begging for you to fulfil your weekly carb quota with impossibly irresistible and aromatic ‘biryani’ rice … or perhaps those proudly Malaysian taste buds demand steaming white rice, drenched in authentic, rich, mouth-watering chicken curry packed with insane flavours thanks to a celestial potpourri of spices, heightened with a wicked dose of chili pirouetting off your lips.

Yeah, that’s right – there’s nothing quite like the fiery, gratifying flavours of deeelicious Indian food, is there? And if you’re a hardcore foodie who can’t get enough of them, be it North or South (yes, there IS a huge difference), you would’ve scoured the entire city (perhaps even the nation) for the best eats.

However, the list we’re about to unveil could still come as a surprise to your expert nose trained to pick up the scent of the latest congregation of garam masala in town. Don’t fight it, folks – just let it go, surrender to that feeling, dig in … (and you’re welcome! *burp*)

May ‘N’ Mike’s in PJ offers some of the best, authentic Malayalee flavours in a homely, inviting ambience. Here, take this serviette and wipe off that drool …

Lost that ‘banana leaf rice’ feeling? Fret not. Head on over to a veteran in South Indian cuisine, Acha Curry House, located just off Jalan Gasing. These guys are famous for their array of consistently delicious curries including onion, crab and – wait for it – salted fish, which is kind of a rarity as it’s not something every Indian restaurant in town serves. And get this – meals come with a side of sweet and spicy ikan bilis sambal. (Slurp!)
