The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur

The Majestic is Kuala Lumpur’s only heritage hotel, originally built in 1932; it underwent a seven-year renovation, subsequently re-opening in 2012. The hotel, which is right opposite the Old KL Railway Station, is charming as it is romantic with its old-colonial architecture and interiors reminiscent of a bygone era, whilst embracing the nuances of modern design.

Accommodation is housed in the Majestic Wing (47 luxurious suites with 24-hour butler service) and the Tower Wing (253 guestrooms and suites), separate buildings linked by a glass enclosed air-conditioned walkway.

Contango serves international buffets, while the charming Colonial Café serves traditional British dishes as well as local flavours.

Villa Samadhi

If a tranquil, more personalised boutique-resort experience is what you seek, then Villa Samadhi is it. A perfect setting for romances, this small hotel with just 21 suites oozes charm and character with dark woods commanding the interiors, whilst exuding a wonderfully Balinese feel thanks to the thatched roof and lanterns surrounded by a pleasing foliage. It also has a lagoon-shaped swimming pool, restaurant and chic rooftop bar for guests.

The rooms feature vaulted wooden ceilings, large beds and private terraces with whirlpool tubs, and come with free Wi-Fi.

The hotel’s sole restaurant Mandi-Mandi, where breakfast is served, offers a tantalising menu and is open for lunch and dinner.
