The TSM Golf Challenge will make a welcome return to the Malaysian golfing schedule when the 11th edition of the elite junior event is staged at TPC Kuala Lumpur’s East Course on March 25-28.
Initiated and funded by the Tan Sri Muhyiddin Charity Golf Foundation (TSMCG), the 54-hole strokeplay event will feature an invitational field of 80 leading Malaysian amateurs across both genders aged between 13 and 21.

The TSM Golf Challenge is sanctioned by the Malaysian Golf Association (MGA) and, as in previous editions, will include members of the national squads except overseas-based players who are unable to return. In the last tournament at Glenmarie Golf & Country Club in 2015, national team stalwarts Gaven Kendall Green and Nur Durriyah Damian emerged as the boys’ and girls’ champions respectively.
Galven’s successful defence of the title emulated the feat of elder brother Gavin – now the country’s leading professional golfer – who won in 2009 and 2010. Galven is currently in his sophomore year at the University of New Mexico, while Durriyah turned professional in 2017.
Prizes consist of sponsorship (in the form of vouchers or reimbursements) for elite training at golf academies which are approved by TSMCG, golf equipment purchases and tournament / travel expenses. Players who turn professional after the event will be given cash once they obtain their tour cards.
The boys’ champion will receive sponsorship worth RM25,000, while the girls’ winner will be allocated RM20,000.
TSMCG also funds the Tunas Bestari golf development programme, where free lessons for children from as young as seven are conducted every weekend at Seri Selangor Golf Club in Petaling Jaya.

Boys: Champion – RM25,000 / Runner-up – RM15,000 / 2nd Runner-Up – RM10,000
Girls: Champion – RM20,000 / Runner-up – RM10,000 / 2nd Runner-Up – RM5,000
