Royal Perak aims to boost junior development with free-entry event

The storied Royal Perak Golf Club (RPGC) in Ipoh is hosting the inaugural RPGC Taiwan Fructose Junior Golf Championship on March 23-24

The championship is open to all Malaysians aged 18 and below (boys – USGA handicap index of 15 and below / girls – USGA handicap index handicap of 24 and below). Entry is free on a first-come, first-served basis.

“The purpose of organising this tournament is to help junior golf development in the state and at the national level. We intend to provide a platform for juniors to gain exposure and showcase their talents. With the generosity and support from sponsors and Royal Perak Golf Club, the entry fee will be waived for all juniors who are interested in taking part” said RPGC captain Teoh Piek Kee.

With a history dating back to 1900, RPGC is one of the country’s oldest golf clubs and offers a scenic, tree-lined 18-hole course with magnificent views of the surrounding limestone hills. The club hosted the Malaysian Open in 1974 and 1990.
