Singapore’s Joshua Ho carded a closing four-under-par 68 to win the MPI Generali Saujana Amateur Championship by two shots from tournament favourite Sadom Kaewkanjana of Thailand.
Joshua finished with a three-day total of nine-under-par 207 at Saujana Golf & Country Club’s Bunga Raya Course to secure the biggest win of his career. The 24-year-old Singapore Management University student is the third Singaporean to win the title since the event’s inception in 1988.
Starting the final day with a two-stroke lead over Aussie Connor McKinney and three ahead of Sadom and another Thai Kosuke Hamamoto, Joshua lost his lead on the first nine to Sadom but made birdies on 11, 12, 14 and 16 to seal the victory
“My driver and irons were solid this whole week,” said Joshua. “I think my confidence level was raised after my third placing in the Sarawak Amateur last week.
