Golfers at Marina Bay Golf Course in Singapore can now choose to cruise the fairways on golf scooters.
Fitted with wide and turf-friendly tyres, the lightweight Fat Tire Golf Scooter is easy to ride on and off cart paths. Each golf scooter allows a single rider to be seated comfortably and comes with a rear bag holder, cooler bag and fixtures for other golf accessories.
The battery-operated scooter injects more fun and enjoyment to the game since less waiting time is required for a golfer to get to his ball and more focus can be placed on improving the game. The golf scooter option is made readily available for the individual golfer in a three or even five-ball flight at the 18-hole public golf course. All golfers in a flight can request for golf scooters, too.
“As more people are receptive to the use of scooters and e-bikes for commuting these days, we find it timely to bring in scooters to the golf course. We aim to be at the forefront of the latest innovations in the golf industry. The mobility and convenience the golf scooters bring will greatly enhance the experience of golfers playing at Marina Bay Golf Course,” said Ng Ser Miang, chairman of NCI Golf, the distributor of Fat Tire Golf Scooters for the Asia Pacific region.
The new batch of eight golf scooters are decked in white, red and blue to complement the existing fleet of twin-sharing golf carts. As part of the introductory offer, there is no additional charge for golfers who choose to use the golf scooter instead of a golf cart.
These scooters are currently used for play at golf courses in the United States. Marina Bay Golf Course is the first golf course in this region to roll out the golf scooters for play by members of the public.
