Prague, August 26: Malaysia’s Gavin Green closed with a 69 to claim third place in the D+D Real Czech Masters at Albatross Golf Resort.
The long-hitting Green signed in a 17-under-par total, five shots behind winner Andrea Pavan of Italy who closed with 67. Irish legend Padraig Harrington meanwhile carded a final round 69 to finish as runner-up on 20-under-par.
In addition to a cheque for €62,600, the 24-year-old also took home a year’s supply of Pilsner Urquell beer by hitting the longest drive on the final day – an out-of-his-socks 358-yard thumper at the ninth hole.
Green moved up to 80th place in the Race To Dubai rankings in his first full season on the European Tour. He needs to finish in the top 110 to keep his card for 2019.
