Malaysia’s Natasha Andrea Oon is one of 15 collegiate women golfers named to the Golfweek Annika Award Fall Watch List for the 2019-20 season.
The San José State University sophomore continues to make an impact for the Spartans, as the San Jose State team is know, She started the season with a runner-up performance at the Minnesota Invitational, then a T8 finish at the Illini Women’s Invitational and T13 at the Stanford Intercollegiate. The 18-year-old has shot par or better in seven of her eight rounds this season, including a 67 in the second round of the Minnesota Invitational. Oon is currently ranked 160 on the World Amateur Golf Ranking.
In her freshman year, Oon had an outstanding season and was a second team 2019 All-America honoree by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association and a 2019 Golfweek Third Team All-America selection. She was the 2018-19 Mountain West Freshman of the Year and a first team All-MW honoree. She won two titles at the Minnesota Invitational and The Gold Rush and finished ninth at the NCAA Championship Stroke Play.
The annual Golfweek Annika Award presented by Stifel honors the best player of the year in women’s college golf, selected by college golfers, coaches and the golf media.
