3 Michelin-Starred Chef Miyakawa’s sushi masterclass at Kampachi EQ

No amount of money ever bought a second of time – that’s the quintessence of 3 Michelin-starred Chef Masaaki Miyakawa’s philosophy.

What that means in the art of Edomae-style sushi is that seconds literally matter in creating the chemistry of ingredients and explosion of flavours. KL-lites can sample this dedication to culinary perfection in the Sushi Shin Pop-Up by Chef Miyakawa and his team at Kampachi EQ, available until November 10 only.

Diners at EQ Kuala Lumpur’s iconic Japanese restaurant enjoy the same omakase menu offered by Chef Miyakawa at his restaurants in Japan. The catch, which is indigenous to the Tokyo Bay area, is flown in fresh from Hokkaido.

During this exclusive pop-up dining period, places are limited to just eight seats at Kampachi’s 200-year-old Hinoki wood sushi counter during lunch (12pm – 2.30pm) and dinner (6pm – 8pm / 8.30pm to 10.30pm). An additional 12 persons can be accommodated in the private dining area next to the sushi counter.

“The innovative menu allows guests to experience unique, seasonal sushi and tsumami dishes packed with umami, their delicate flavors extracted precisely from each ingredient.” said Chef Miyakawa.

Sake pairing packages are available, while reservations for a minimum of eight persons receive a complimentary bottle of Taketsuru Whisky. Diners also enjoy special rates for JAL flights and EQ hotel stays. For enquiries call +603 2789 7722 or email kampachi@kul.equatorial.com
