Malaysia’s Ainil Bakar has progressed to the Final Stage of the 2020 Ladies European Tour (LET) Qualifying School with a T10 finish in the Pre Qualifier at Real Golf La Manga Club in Spain over the weekend.
Ainil carded rounds of 74, 66, 75 and 72 in the 72-hole pre-qualifier, played alternately at La Manga’s par-73 South Course and par-71 North Course. She finished with an even-par total, 10 strokes behind winner Alison Muirhead of Scotland.
A total of 63 players at 13-over-par or better will join the 57 players already exempt in the field of 120 for the five-round Final Stage on January 22-26 at La Manga. The top five players from the Final Stage will be eligible for LET Category 5c membership, while those from 6th to 20th position will be eligible for Category 8a membership.
Players who make the 72-hole cut to the leading 60 and ties and finish in position 21st and below will be ranked according to score and be eligible for Category 9b membership. Players who fail to make the cut will be eligible for Category 12a membership and will be ranked in final score order.
