ParGolf Travel & Lifestyle Expo 2020: Get Your Golf & Travel Fix

When’s a bad time for a break?

That’s a trick question. There’s NEVER a bad time for a holiday or get your mates together for a round of fun, exhilarating golf, is there – or enjoy the best of both worlds by merging the two for that eagerly-awaited family vacation.

If you don’t want to lose out on amazing travel, golf and lifestyle deals, you’d be wise not to give the inaugural ParGolf Travel & Lifestyle Expo (PGTLE) a miss.

To be held from March 6-8 at the Starling in Damansara Uptown, Petaling Jaya, the PGTLE will bring together a whole host of golf clubs and resorts from across Malaysia and the region, along with exhibitors from the travel and lifestyle industries where you could grab great golfing and holiday deals as well as exciting activities and contests – and maybe even walk away with lucky draw prizes!

“Visitors can expect great deals from Malaysia’s leading golf clubs and resorts, as well as some from overseas. To make it a great day out for everyone, we will be organising contests and activities such as lucky draws,” said Terrence Loh, managing director of PGTLE organiser Write Track Publishing & Communications (WTPC), owners of leading golf media ParGolf.

“In addition, non-golfers who are interested in taking up the game can find out more about lessons, equipment and alternatives to club memberships. We are also looking at inviting prominent people from across the golf industry to give short talks on matters of interest such as college golf in the US, junior development and club-fitting,” he elaborated.

Among the golf clubs, resorts and tour operators setting up booths at the expo will be Meru Valley Resort, situated about 10 minutes out of Ipoh city with resort homes surrounding the breathtaking Meru Valley Golf Course, a 27-hole championship course comprising three distinctive nine-hole tracks: Valley, Waterfall and River.

“The PGTLE is the first golf travel expo in Malaysia gathering all golf lovers, be it the club operators or individual golfers, where the visitors can get what they are looking for,” said Leong Mei Yee, operations manager of Meru Valley Resort.

“This expo would enable us to capture the right target market – golfers as individual – and network with other club operators to explore the possibilities of cross selling our products with special packages,” she added, hinting exclusive door gifts and lucky draw prizes for visitors.

The region’s leading tour operator Golfasian, who specialises exclusively in golf holiday tours for both individuals and groups, are also eager to showcase their packages that include stays at the best value-for-money hotels and golf at the finest courses.

Golfasian director of business development Pascal Orczech is excited at the prospect of expanding their Malaysian customer database, currently comprising Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Indonesia. “Our objective is to grow the Malaysian golfers market share … and with that grow our database of Malaysian golfers,” said Orczech, adding that visitors who swing by their booth at the expo could stand to win free trips to Thailand and Vietnam – and free rounds of golf in Southeast Asia.

According to WTPC’s Loh, the Starling makes for a truly strategic venue for the three-day affair as it already attracts large crowds especially over weekends.

“In addition to ParGolf’s print, digital and social media channels, the PGTLE will be promoted via print, digital and outdoor advertising, on-ground promotions at selected clubs and retail outlets, as well as SMS blasts using our extensive database. With the Starling being ideally located in an affluent neighbourhood and with many golf clubs in the vicinity, we are confident that there will be a strong turnout of golfers and non-golfers over all three days,” he said.

About the Starling
