Tropicana GCR Santapan 29 Malam Ramadan Buffet: Legendary Feast

Whether you’re a diehard foodie eyeing that gratifying gastronomic adventure or just miss bonding over fine food with friends and loved ones, this holy month of Ramadan presents the perfect opportunity to do just that, especially with the return of Tropicana Golf & Country Resort’s highly-anticipated Santapan 29 Malam Buffet.

Featuring more than 250 dishes, along with 20 stalls serving popular delicacies made fresh on the spot, the legendary Ramadan buffet dinner returns by popular demand, ready to satisfy even the most discerning of tastebuds from April 13 to May 12 at The Palm Coffee House, located at the main wing of the clubhouse.

Tropicana’s managing director Peter Kuan shared the considerations they have had to take into account for social distancing practices this year whilst promising to deliver a delightful kampung-style experience.

“For over 20 years, Tropicana has consistently redefined the art of living, dining, and serving – improving our legendary Ramadhan buffet that has become a household name,” he said. “Covid-19 may have left a void among buffet-lovers but thanks to ‘new normal-friendly’ concepts, we are bringing back our Santapan 29 Malam Buffet to satisfy buffet cravings while sticking to social distancing measures.

“Our menu this year is enormous, with over 250 dishes and 20 stalls preparing local and international signature dishes, from special roasts and grill corner to our mouth-watering pastry corner,” added Kuan.

Thanks to a talented team of chefs and kitchen crew, diners will be in for a splendid treat as the vast spread comprises local favourites as well as house specialties, including the ubiquitous Lemang, cooked over wood fires and served with Chicken Rendang, Roti Canai and Bubur Lambuk. For meat lovers, the Roasted Lamb and Satay are grilled fresh at the stalls, complemented by lipsmacking sauces and gravies, along with condiments.

Meanwhile the 20 live cooking stations will have the Tropicana chefs showing off their skills as they prepare Malaysian and western favourites such as aneka goreng (eg prawns, fish, chicken and keropok), fried noodles, pizza, nuggets and Cekodok Pisang, among others.

Those with a sweet tooth can relish a spectrum of desserts; choose from local kuih, cakes, pastries, Ice Cream Potong, ABC and Cendol – as well as luscious, creamy bubur (sweet porridge) such as Bubur Cha-Cha, Bubur Kacang Hijau and Bubur Pulut Hitam that would have you craving for more.

And of course, fruit lovers can enjoy an assortment of Malaysian fruits, from crunchy jambu and rambutan to duku langsat and mango, with a choice of popular local drinks including Sirap Bandung.

A new addition this year is a range of Thai specialties, such as Yam Neua Beef Salad, Tom Yum Gai and Som Tam Thai, a spicy green papaya salad in chili and fish sauce – taking you on a little trip to the Land of Smiles (without having to cross borders!).

So get ready to savour a feast fit for the king as the sun sets amidst lush greenery and soothing ambiance. Experience an unforgettable evening as you ‘berbuka puasa’ in the company of loved ones, hearts overflowing with gratitude this Ramadan for all of life’s blessings.
