Malaysia’s Genevieve Ling chalked up her best result on the 2021 Women’s All Pro Tour (WAPT) with an impressive T3 finish in the Bella Vista Charity Classic in Bella Vista, Arkansas.

The 26-year-old carded rounds of 70, 74, 69 and 66 for a nine-under-par total, just one shot shy of making it into a playoff for the title. The tournament concluded yesterday and was won by Jessica Porvasnik on the first hole of sudden-death against fellow American Kenzie Wright.

Genevieve was in superb form over the weekend, especially in the final round when she nailed seven birdies – including six on the front nine – against just one bogey. The first 36 holes of the event were staged at two courses, Bella Vista Country Club and Highlands Golf Course, with rounds 3 and 4 played at the former.

The T3 performance saw Genevieve moving up to 13th place on the WAPT’s Race To Stage II rankings after seven events.

“Came up one short but we’re trending in the right direction! We played on two courses this week and I think you can see which one I preferred. I’m glad I got through all four days, with little improvements everyday … time to build on all the positives and work on the parts that need work,” noted Genevieve on her social media channels.

The Race To Stage II concludes with the Babe Zaharias Open at Beaumont Country Club in late July, two weeks before the first stage of LPGA qualifying at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California. The top five players on the final rankings gain exemptions into stage II of LPGA qualifying, which takes place this October at Plantation Golf & Country Club in Venice, Florida.
