Golf will be among selected non-contact sports permitted in Sabah from tomorrow (June 29).
A statement by Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor issued today noted that the East Malaysian state will be opening up more sectors as part of its recovery phase.
These include hotels, barbers and hair salons, as well as dine-in at restaurants, coffee shops and other eateries. Sports and recreational activities that do not involve physical contact such as golf, fishing and cycling will also be allowed.
In the manufacturing sector, more industries will be allowed to operate such as those involving rubber, cement, paint, timber and furniture.
Detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the reopening of these sectors will be announced soon. The SOPs under the ongoing nationwide Movement Control Order 3.0 will be maintained for other sectors.
