MRCA Charity Golf raised RM50k to benefit five children’s homes

The Malaysia Retail Chain Association (MRCA) recently held a Charity Golf tournament at the Tropicana Golf & Country Resort. Supported by MRCA Branding Education Charity Foundation, the tournament received overwhelming response from 124 golfers with the 31 flights taken up within the first two weeks of its launch.

The event successfully raised RM50,000 and was donated to five children’s homes. The mock cheques were handed over to the following home – the Angels Children’s Home, Openhands Fellowship Care Centre, Pertubuhan kebajikan Waja Home Malaysia, Rumah Amal Limpahan Kasih and Rumah Victory Children & Youth Home.

The highlight of the day was the charity auction where a total of nine sponsored items were put up for bids with a total value of RM40,000 consists of branded luggage, Swiss timepieces, and Italian Fabric custom made suit. All auction proceeds went towards the donation to said charity homes.

The Charity Golf Tournament was attended by Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Barry Goh Ming Choon, Founder & Executive Chairman of B&G Capital Resources Berhad, Founder & Executive Chairman of B&G Capital Resources Berhad, MRCA Branding Education Charity Foundation Chairman, Datuk Lee Hwa Cheng, MRCA President, Ms. Shirley Tay, MRCA Past Honorary Presidents, Joint Organising Chairmen, Mr Jordan Ng, Mr Brian Tham and working committees, MRCA Excos and Council Members; representatives from the donor companies, media and guests.
