The Kelana Queen Ladies’ Open is back for its second edition at the Kelana Course of the Kelab Golf Negara Subang on March 11, 2023. This year, the tournament is open to all ladies nationwide and the event has already received an overwhelming response from local golfers, with 87 entries from KGNS and local clubs. There will also be international participation this year with several foreign entries from Germany, South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, and Singapore. Lady Convenor Sharifah Khatijah Syed Abdul Rahman is hoping to cap the entries at 100 participants.
Last year, the tournament was played on Stableford format, but this year, the players will battle it out on Strokeplay format. The crown will go to the nett winner, adding more excitement to the tournament.
The Kelana Queen 2023 will witness golfers from different age groups. The oldest participant in the tournament is 81, and the youngest is in her early 30s. It is heartening to see golf bringing together people from different age groups and backgrounds.

The closing date for participation is March 5 and the entry fee is RM150 for KGNS member and RM350 for non-members. The Kelana Queen 2023 promises to be a grand affair, with the royal presence of DYMM Tunku Ampuan Besar Negeri Sembilan, Tunku Aishah Rohani Almarhum Tengku Besar Mahmud, and YTM Tunku Temenggong Kedah, Dato’ Seri DiRaja Tan Sri Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz binti Almarhum Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah. Their presence will undoubtedly encourage and motivate the players, adding to the excitement and grandeur of the event.
The Kelana Queen 2023 is a significant event that aims to promote golf amongst women in the country. Lady Convenor Sharifah Khatijah hopes that the event will eventually grow into one of the foremost ladies tournaments in the country. With a great turnout of participants and the presence of esteemed personalities, the tournament promises to be an exciting affair.
