Singapore’s premier resort destination served up a festival of golf during LIV Golf Singapore presented by Resorts World Sentosa Singapore. From April 28 to 30, 2023, LIV Golf Singapore presented by Resorts World Sentosa Singapore (RWS) made a grand entrance at Asia’s premier award-winning lifestyle destination, creating an unforgettable week of golfing festivities.
As the fifth stop of the 2023 LIV Golf League season, RWS played a vital role as the tournament’s presenting partner and official hotel, ensuring a week filled with exciting events. The individual competition witnessed an intense playoff between American talent Talor Gooch from RangeGoats GC and Spanish veteran Sergio Garcia from Fireballs GC. In a remarkable display of skill, Gooch emerged victorious, becoming the league’s first back-to-back individual winner. Gooch and his RangeGoats GC teammates, including Thomas Pieters, Harold Varner III, and captain Bubba Watson, celebrated their team’s triumph, securing their first team victory of the year, three strokes ahead of the Fireballs.
LIV Golf welcome party
Living up to its reputation as “Golf, But Louder,” the tournament offered a thrilling experience for the enthusiastic crowd at Sentosa Golf Club. Spectators were treated to world-class golf on the Serapong Course while enjoying an array of entertainment options off the course.
Thanks to RWS’s thoughtfully curated “LIV Golf Week Experiences,” both the LIV Golf stars, and ticket holders were able to indulge in the resort’s signature hospitality. The event kicked off with a lively welcome party at The Coliseum in Hard Rock Hotel Singapore, bringing together LIV Golf players and guests in a celebratory atmosphere. A special meet-and-greet session was also held at the limited-time Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience, where LIV Golf Commissioner and CEO Greg Norman and team captains Ian Poulter, Bubba Watson, and Dustin Johnson engaged in interviews and interactions.
Another highlight at RWS was the “Longest Putt to LIV Golf” challenge, held at B1 The Forum. Nearly 2,000 participants, including LIV Golf stars, took their chances on the 32-meter-long putting surface—the longest artificial golf putting green in Singapore. Notable players such as Johnson, Poulter, and Watson showcased their putting skills, but it was Danny Lee from Iron Heads GC, the winner of LIV Golf Tucson, who stole the show with a successful putt from the full distance.
