The Next Gen charity golf event at Kota Permai Golf and Country Club raised RM28,968 to support underprivileged Orang Asli children and the disabled community.

Organised by the Majlis Datuk Persekutuan Malaysia (MDPM) in collaboration with the SME associations of Hulu Langat and Klang, the event aimed to foster a caring and inclusive society through initiatives promoting education, equality, and inclusive development.

The funds raised will support two key projects: “Sponsor an Orang Asli Child to Read, Write, and Count,” which received RM16,468, and “To Make Society More Inclusive of People with Disability,” which secured RM12,500. These projects aim to address educational challenges faced by the Orang Asli children, who often struggle with high dropout rates due to cultural and linguistic barriers. The money will be used to collaborate with the Jabatan Kemajuan Orang Asli (JKOA) to run a pilot program to help these children acquire fundamental skills, such as reading, writing, and counting, to build their confidence and enable further education.

During the event, booths were set up by the SME associations of Hulu Langat and Klang to promote their businesses and products, and a charity auction was held to raise additional funds for the two initiatives. Items auctioned included a luxurious Titoni watch and a Gintell massage chair.

MDPM President Datuk Iskandar Malik and Chan Ming Kai, the political secretary to the Prime Minister, presented mock cheques to representatives of both the Orang Asli and disabled community initiatives, emphasising their commitment to fostering an inclusive society.
