Defending champion Edven Ying sits just one stroke behind on five-under-par 67, while amateur Rizq Adam Rohizam is in fourth place on four-under-par 68.
Ervin made a flying start with an eagle at the opening hole and added six birdies before dropping shots on the 17th and 18th holes. Amir carded seven birdies against a lone bogey in an impressive round.
Foong Xi Yu
In the Ladies Championship, amateur Foong Xi Yu leads the field after an even-par 72. Zulaikah Nasser is one shot back on one-over-par 73, while Winnie Ng is a further stroke behind on two-over-par 74.
Players enjoyed moderate sunshine and light winds throughout the day, although judging the wind direction and selecting the right club proved challenging, particularly in the afternoon.
The PGM Royal Pahang Closed Championship 2026 offers a total prize purse of RM180,000, while the Ladies Championship carries a purse of RM30,000. The tournament is being held at the par-72 Kelab Golf DiRaja Pahang.
