Malaysia’s Mirabel Ting continued her impressive rookie season with a superb runner-up finish at the Hartford HealthCare Women’s Championship presented by Munich Re, moving up two places to seventh in the Epson Tour Race for the Card standings.
Ting closed with a bogey-free five-under-par 66 to finish at 12-under-par, one stroke behind champion Christine Wang, who claimed her maiden Epson Tour title with a tournament-winning total of 13-under.
The former Florida State University standout mounted one of the strongest charges on Championship Sunday, bouncing back brilliantly from a second-round 76. She recorded consecutive bogey-free rounds over the weekend, including a sensational seven-under 64 on Saturday and a five-under 66 on Sunday, making 12 birdies over the final 36 holes.
Starting the final round three shots behind Wang, Ting quickly applied pressure with a birdie at the fourth hole after Wang dropped a shot. Although Wang steadied herself with birdies on the 13th and 16th to secure victory, Ting never gave up, finishing alone in second, her best result of the season.
“I would say I was patient on the golf course today, especially after what happened yesterday,” said Ting after her third-round 64. “My sister and I talked about it on the way to the course because I didn’t want to think about it the night before. I drove the ball really well and putted really well.”
Ting has now recorded seven top-10 finishes in her rookie Epson Tour campaign, further strengthening her bid to earn an LPGA Tour card for the 2027 season.
With six tournaments remaining, Ting sits seventh in the Race for the Card standings, with the top 10 players at the end of the season earning full playing rights on the 2027 LPGA Tour.
