The Asia Golf Leaders Forum (AGLF), which hosted the Virtual Golf Conference in collaboration with the R&A and Golfzon China recently, concluded successfully with insights from key industry leaders as its highlights.

Held at the Grand Metro Park in downtown Beijing on September 8, the conference themed ‘Golf, Technology and Future’ examined the various virtual golf platforms in the industry and its technologies and addressed the future of virtual golf.

The conference was attended by Golfzon China Chairman Young-jo Park and CEO Sung-bong Park, Pondok Indah GC President Eric Purwanto, R&A Director Jerome Ng, APGP President Se-hoon Chang, and AGLF Secretary General Paul Park. Eight other AGLF golf association members from Singapore, Hong Kong, India, the Philippines, and Malaysia also participated in the conference via Zoom.

Park introduced the International Indoor Golf Association (IIGA)- an international screen golf association before its Secretary General Yujie Gao went on to provide an overview of the association’s future activities.

Ng then gave a presentation on ‘Participation and Pathway’ by the R&A before Park’s presentation on ‘Virtual Golf and the AGLF’, sharing his insight into the future cooperation between the AGLF and virtual golf.

Launched in 2020 to advance women’s golf in the Asia-Pacific, AGLF comprises of golf associations and corporate members, including the KGA and KLPGA. Outside of South Korea, there are association members from 13 other countries: Thailand, Chinese Taipei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Australia, India, Myanmar and Singapore. In addition, the Royal & Ancient (R&A) of the United Kingdom is a special member of the AGLF.
