Ainil Bakar’s T2 performance in the Viaplay Ladies Finnish Open has vaulted her 101 places up the Rolex Women’s World Rankings into 605th spot, making her the top-ranked Malaysian in the world.
Aretha Pan meanwhile climbed 41 spots into 622nd place with her T3 finish in the China LPGA’s Zhuhai Heritage and is three rungs higher than former Malaysian No 1 Kelly Tan. Tan had been the top Malaysian since her first full season on the LPGA Tour in 2014 but lost her card last year and has not enjoyed much success on the second tier Symetra Tour.
Amateur Winnie Ng is the fourth-ranked Malaysian in 846th place, six spots ahead of Michelle Koh.
