Top Malaysian ladies amateur Alyaa Abdulghany continued her fine run of post-collegiate form with a sixth place finish in the Kathy Whitworth Paris Championship on the Women’s All Pro Tour.

Alyaa carded rounds of 65, 72, 64 and 69 at the par-69 Paris Golf & Country Club in Paris, Texas, for a six-under-par 270 total to take top amateur honours. Two weeks earlier, the 22-year-old finished T5 in the Texas Women’s Open which was her first event after concluding her collegiate golf career with the University of Southern California.

Malaysian professional Genevieve Ling meanwhile carded rounds of 69, 70, 68 and 68 to finish joint 16th on one-under-par. The 26-year-old has been playing on the WAPT since April this year and is currently in 22nd spot on the tour’s ‘Race 2 Stage II’ season rankings.

The Race 2 Stage II concludes with the Babe Zaharias Open at Beaumont Country Club in late July, with the top five players earning exemptions into Stage II of LPGA qualifying school this October.
