Liu Yujie and her father Liu Guoliang
Beijing teenager Liu Yujie announced herself as one of China’s brightest golf prospects after going wire-to-wire to claim her maiden CLPG Tour victory at the Jackfish Guangdong Women’s Open.
The 15-year-old amateur closed with an even-par 72 at Huamei Luhu Golf Club to finish at nine-under 207, five strokes clear of the field. It was her first win in a professional competition, adding her name to a growing list of teenage stars making an impact on the CLPA Tour.
Liu’s final round featured three birdies, a bogey, and a double-bogey on the demanding par-5 17th, where her second shot went out of bounds. Despite the stumble, she never lost control of the tournament, protecting the two-shot lead she carried into the day.
“Even if you post a relatively poor score, as long as you win it’s a good result. If you don’t win, even shooting 10-under wouldn’t be an ideal outcome. So today, victory was the only objective,” said Liu, currently ranked 109th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.
The victory was made even more special with her father, former table tennis world champion Liu Guoling, watching from the sidelines. “I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time. Being able to share it with my dad and my whole family makes me incredibly happy,” she said.

Xu Ying, another amateur, finished second
Her composure and consistency throughout the week drew praise from peers and underscored her potential as one of the next big names in women’s golf. The win also extended a remarkable streak for the CLPG Tour, with amateurs now capturing four consecutive titles, a record for the circuit.
While China’s Xu Ying surged with a final-round 69 to finish runner-up, and Thai pro Kan Bunnabodee settled for third, the week belonged firmly to Liu Yujie. With her breakthrough victory, she has joined the conversation alongside fellow teenager Aphrodite Deng Tiexin as a rising talent to watch in women’s golf.
