Andy Sullivan leads the European Tour’s UK Swing Order of Merit after claiming his fourth European Tour victory at the English Championship on Sunday.
The Englishman finished seven strokes clear of Adrian Otaegui at Hanbury Manor on 27-under-par 257, the lowest recorded 72-hole score in European Tour history.
Sullivan began the UK Swing with a tied fourth finish at the Betfred British Masters and followed up with a tied 41st performance at the Hero Open, before claiming his first win on the European Tour since the 2015 Portugal Masters. He holds a narrow lead of 28.76 points over Rasmus Højgaard, who continued to impress with a third-place finish at Hanbury Manor, becoming the only player to record three consecutive top 10s in the first three weeks of the UK Swing.
With three events left in the UK Swing there is still plenty to play for, including the chance to qualify for the US Open. The top 10 in the mini Order of Merit that are not otherwise exempt at the conclusion of the fifth event – the Wales Open at Celtic Manor – will earn starts in the rescheduled US Open at Winged Foot on September 17-20.
The UK Swing Order of Merit is part of the European Tour’s new Golf for Good initiative, with the top 10 sharing an additional £250,000 to donate to charities of their choice.
