Amateur golfer Anson Yeo claimed the PGM Tun Ahmad Sarji Trophy after a nail-biting playoff against fellow amateur Nathan Wong, both finishing at nine under par (-9) after 54 holes at Saujana Golf & Country Club’s Bunga Raya course.

Despite a nerve-wracking start with a double bogey on the opening hole, Yeo maintained his composure throughout the round. “I kept my cool and focused on every shot. Nathan was playing solid, and Dino (Shahriffuddin) was attacking every hole. The competition was intense, and I’m thrilled it ended well for me,” said Yeo.

In the playoff, Wong had the advantage with a stronger drive, placing his second shot 20 yards from the hole. Yeo’s second shot landed off the green but he executed a stunning chip-in for birdie to clinch the title.

In the Ladies Championship, H Y Bang of Saujana GCC secured the trophy with an impressive nine under par (-9), while Liyana Durisic and Winnie Ng finished tied at one over par.

The tournament, which offered RM180,000 for the men’s division and RM30,000 for the ladies, concluded after an exciting week of high-stakes competition.
