Bank Mandiri renews title sponsorship for Indonesia Open, tournament returns to Pondok Indah

The Asian Tour has confirmed that Bank Mandiri will continue its title sponsorship of the Indonesia Open for a fourth consecutive year, with the tournament returning to Pondok Indah Golf Course from 28–31 August 2025.

The Mandiri Indonesia Open, widely regarded as one of the region’s most storied National Opens, will offer a prize purse of US$500,000. The winner will take home US$90,000. It will mark the ninth event on this year’s Asian Tour schedule.

This year’s edition also marks a homecoming to the iconic Pondok Indah Golf Course in Jakarta, which has long been associated with the tournament. The venue last hosted the event in 2023, when Thailand’s Nitithorn Thippong emerged victorious. Designed by the legendary Robert Trent Jones Jr. in the 1970s and extensively renovated in 2010, the course also famously staged the 1983 World Cup of Golf.

Bank Mandiri’s sustained commitment is a cornerstone of the tournament’s success and growth.

“Bank Mandiri believes in staying the course with key projects, and our involvement with the Indonesia Open is a perfect example of this,” said M. Wisnu Trihanggodo, Senior Executive Vice President of Corporate Relation at Bank Mandiri. “It has been an honour to title sponsor this prestigious tournament since 2022. The Indonesia Open’s heritage, its regional stature, and its role in growing the game locally make it a partnership we truly value.”

Asian Tour Commissioner and CEO Cho Minn Thant praised the strong collaboration behind the event.

“In its now-regular mid-season slot, the Mandiri Indonesia Open will again play a vital role in anchoring the Tour’s calendar,” he said. “With Bank Mandiri’s exemplary support and the championship setting at Pondok Indah Golf Course, we are poised for another memorable tournament. Our thanks also go to Persatuan Golf Indonesia for their tireless efforts behind the scenes.”

Representing Persatuan Golf Indonesia, Secretary-General Suharsono echoed the appreciation.
“We are truly grateful to Bank Mandiri for their loyal and unprecedented four-year sponsorship,” he said. “It reflects their genuine desire to help develop golf in Indonesia. We’re equally thrilled to return to Pondok Indah—one of the finest golf clubs in the country.”

Erick Purwanto, Director of Pondok Indah Golf Course, added: “Hosting the Indonesia Open once again is a great honour. This tournament is an integral part of our legacy, and we look forward to delivering another world-class event.”

The Indonesia Open has a rich history, counting India’s Gaganjeet Bhullar as its most successful champion with three victories—two of which came at Pondok Indah, in 2016 and 2022. Last year, England’s Steve Lewton captured the title after finishing runner-up in the previous two editions.

With world-class players expected to compete and the support of long-standing partners, the 2025 Mandiri Indonesia Open promises another thrilling chapter in the tournament’s storied legacy.
