Ben Leong delivered a flawless second round at the PGM Penang Championship 2025, carding a bogey-free seven-under 65 to share the lead with Edven Ying at ten-under heading into the final round at Bukit Jawi Golf Resort.
Leong, fresh off his victory at the PGM KGPA Championship last month, was in top form, picking up four birdies on the front nine and another three on the back nine. With just a few strokes separating the top of the leaderboard, Leong is poised for a strong finish in the finale at the club’s scenic par-72 Hill Course.
“I felt really calm out there today, especially with the putter. Just kept things simple and tried to stay in rhythm,” said Leong after his round.
Close behind is veteran Danny Chia, who has a strong winning history at Bukit Jawi. Chia posted a steady two-under 70today to sit at four-under-par through 36 holes, six shots off the pace.

In the Ladies Championship, Liyana Durisic holds a four-stroke advantage over Genevieve Ling going into the final round, with Zulaikah Nasser just one shot further back. The women’s division, like the men’s, remains wide open with plenty of drama expected on the closing day.
Playing at Bukit Jawi’s lush and undulating Hill Course, the PGM Penang Championship 2025 offers a total purse of RM180,000 for the men’s field and RM30,000 for the women’s division. Despite gusty winds throughout the day and late afternoon cloud buildup, scoring conditions remained favourable for much of the round.
All eyes now turn to tomorrow’s final showdown, with both Leong and Ying chasing another title—and a field of hungry contenders not far behind.
