Ben Leong continued his impressive form at the PGM KGPA Championship 2025, carding a three-under-par 69 in the second round to take a two-shot lead heading into the final day at seven-under-par 137.

Leong, who opened the tournament with a 68, added four birdies—at the 1st, 2nd, 7th, and 9th holes—against a lone bogey on the 5th. The Sabah-born golfer, whose last victory came at the Fortuner Cup in Sibu in June 2024, will be aiming to add another title to his resume when he tees off in the final round.

Round-one leader Kenneth Tobuse could not maintain his momentum, returning an even-par round to drop into a tie for second at five-under-par 139. Joining him are Nor Heikal Hadi, Malcolm Ting, and Danny Millis, all of whom kept themselves in contention with solid performances.

Also in the mix are Kenneth De Silva and Edven Ying, who sit just one stroke further back at four-under-par 140. With several experienced players within striking distance, Leong faces a tough battle ahead in his quest for victory on the scenic Hills & Lakes course at Kelab Golf Perkhidmatan Awam (KGPA).

A total of 48 players advanced to the final round after the cut was set at seven-over-par (+7).

Genevieve Ling

In the Ladies Championship, Genevieve Ling surged to the top of the leaderboard at two-under-par (-2), thanks to her consistent play and focused putting. Spending significant time on the practice green has paid dividends for Ling, who is finding her rhythm after regularly competing abroad.

First round leader, Liyana Durisic trails by a single stroke, while Geraldine Wong, the 2024 Order of Merit winner, sits four shots behind the lead. With just one round remaining, the stage is set for a thrilling finish in both the men’s and women’s events.

The PGM KGPA Championship 2025 offers a prize purse of RM180,000 for the men’s division and RM30,000 for the Ladies Championship. Despite cloudy conditions throughout the day, the competition remained heated as the field narrowed toward the final showdown.
