The Bridgestone ASEAN Amateur Open 2025 officially teed off its Malaysian leg with the launch of its opening tournament at Tasik Puteri Golf & Country Club. Now in its ninth year across Southeast Asia, this celebrated series marks the first of ten exciting league events taking place nationwide—culminating in the highly anticipated Grand Final at Templer Park Country Club later this year.

The one-day 18-hole Stableford event welcomed 120 amateur golfers from across the region, setting the stage for a day of spirited competition against the picturesque yet demanding backdrop of Tasik Puteri’s fairways. Adding to the thrill were five hole-in-one prizes up for grabs, alongside more than 50 lucky draw giveaways, ensuring excitement both on and off the course.

“Tasik Puteri offered the ideal setting to kick off our Malaysian league,” said Vasudevan Krishnan, Managing Director of Prestige Golf Sdn Bhd, Bridgestone’s regional partner. “This series is all about celebrating talent and camaraderie while continuing our mission to grow the amateur golf scene across ASEAN. We’re thrilled to bring golfers of all skill levels together through ten dynamic events.”

Every participant received a premium Bridgestone goodie bag valued at over RM500, brimming with exclusive items including t-shirts, caps, Extra Soft golf balls, Eagle Eye gloves, and more. The tournament concluded with a vibrant awards ceremony, celebrating category winners and lucky draw recipients alike.

Top honours of the day went to Mohd Najib Moktar (Hcp 11), who was crowned Nett Champion, while Aqif Azlan (Hcp 6) claimed the Gross Champion title.
