Callaway Epic Drivers and Fairway Woods: Framing The Future Of Speed

Callaway’s new family of Epic drivers and fairway woods offers exceptional new technologies designed to deliver fast ball speeds for every type of player.

The three new driver models – Epic Speed, Epic Max and Epic Max LS – all generate outstanding ball speeds thanks to Callaway’s new AI-designed Jailbreak Speed Frame. While previous Jailbreak architectures stiffened the body in the vertical direction, the new structure uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve stability in the horizontal and torsional direction as well.

The AI-designed Flash Face utilises super-strength titanium to enhance the Jailbreak Speed Frame and promote fast ball speeds across a more expansive area.

Epic Speed Driver
The Epic Speed is the fastest Epic driver ever with an advanced aerodynamic construction, thanks to a taller ribbon and flatter crown that promote lower drag for higher head speed. Increased forgiveness comes from an advanced composite design, where proprietary Triaxial carbon covers a larger portion of the crown and toe. This weight saving of over 16g versus titanium is redistributed to enhance forgiveness compared to the Mavrik designs.

Epic Max Driver
The Epic Max is the most forgiving Epic ever and is built on a simple equation: maximum ball speed + maximum forgiveness = the ultimate Max driver. The lighter, stronger Triaxial Carbon material allows over 19g of weight to be redistributed to promote high launch and more forgiveness.

A deep CG, draw bias and higher MOI promote a tighter downrange dispersion, while a 12g sliding rear weight enables extensive adjustability to create the desired ball flight. With the OptiFit hosel, the Epic Max driver offers up to 20 yards of shot shape correction.

Epic Max LS Driver
Designed for mid-to-low handicap players who want more speed, neutral ball flight and forgiveness in a lower spin, high MOI package, the Epic Max LS sees Triaxial carbon covering a larger portion of the crown and toe. The deep CG and higher MOI promote a tighter downrange dispersion, while also making this the most fade capable driver in the Epic family. Adjustable Perimeter Weighting provides up to 13 yards of shot shape correction.

All three driver models are available in 9° and 10.5° lofts.

Epic Speed and Epic Max Fairway Woods
The two fairway wood models, Epic Speed and Epic Max, owe their exceptional ball speeds to the new Jailbreak AI Velocity Blades.

Callaway used AI to design a completely new Jailbreak system, which spreads and angles the blades to stiffen the body and allow the forged face cup to flex efficiently.

The Epic Speed Fairway has a high-strength C300 Maraging Steel which provides outstanding strength and flexibility for high ball speeds, while the Face Cup promotes speed and spin consistency across the face. The forward CG is combined with a new leading-edge to promote a strong ball flight, outstanding spin robustness and consistent shot shape dispersion.

The Epic Max Fairway delivers enhanced forgiveness from an oversized Max shape, which combines with a shallow face to make it easy to launch the ball. The launch and spin are tuneable using 2g and 14g weights, placing the heavy weight in the rear for more forgiveness or in the front for lower launch and spin.

The Epic Speed fairway wood is available in 3°, 5° and 7° lofts, while the Epic Max comes in 3°, 5°, 7°, 9° and 11°.
