The Kota Permai Golf & Country Club (KPGCC) Club Championship 2025 lived up to its billing as one of the club’s most anticipated annual events, drawing over 200 amateur golfers for two weekends of spirited competition, camaraderie, and high-calibre play recently.
The action teed off with the Seniors and Ladies’ Championships on 14 and 15 June, setting the tone with tightly contested rounds and strong showings across the board. The intensity continued into the following weekend with the Men’s Championship, originally slated for three days from 20–22 June. Despite weather disruptions, play resumed with resilience and enthusiasm, culminating in a dramatic two-day showdown that brought out the best in Kota Permai’s top talent.

Emerging as this year’s champions were Carl Mikael Lund, who claimed the men’s category title with steady nerves and sharp execution. The scratch handicapper posted a two-day score on 151 (72-79). Zakaria Mohammad (3), who topped the senior category with a composed and consistent performance, carded rounds of 76 and 78 for total 154. Ngo Yi Belle, who impressed in the ladies’ category, posted identical rounds of 78 for total 156.

The tournament closed on a festive note with a Wild Wild West-themed Gala Dinner, transforming the clubhouse into a vibrant celebration of golf, friendship, and shared passion. Beyond the trophies and titles, the evening paid tribute to the community spirit that continues to define KPGCC, a club where competition is fierce, but fellowship runs deeper.
