Chang named ASUN Male Student-Athlete of the Year

Malaysia’s top male amateur Ervin Chang has been named as the 2018-19 Atlantic Sun (ASUN) Conference Male Student-Athlete of the Year.

Chang received the accolade during the ASUN Conference’s annual awards banquet in Savannah earlier this week. He finished his junior season with Liberty University with a 71.71 stroke average, which ranks fourth best in the college’s history, and led the team with eight top-10 finishes on the US collegiate circuit.

“The highlights of my season were probably the regional tournament because I finished top 10 and also helping the team to make it to the Nationals. I was close to winning a few tournaments too in the spring season,” said Chang, who was also named to the ASUN Men’s Golf All-Conference first team

“I would like thank all my teammates and my coaches in college and in Malaysia as well, because without their support, encouragement and positive advice, I won’t be where I am today,” added the 20-year-old.

Chang played a key role in Liberty University making only their second appearance at the NCAA Men’s Golf National Championship, where they finished tied for 20th place.
